"No, that won't work!"

I crumpled up another piece of paper and threw it into my overflowing trash bin. I had been at my desk for who knows how long, trying to come up with at least one good joke I could come up with. But nothing came to mind.

I hadn't come up with a funny joke in forever…OK, most of my jokes aren't really that funny, but let's just say I hadn't come up with a decent joke since…Actually, I think the last time I wrote something on my own account was the beginning of September…when school started. Isn't school the excuse for every creator of anything? Too bad the people at Valve can't use that excuse. Sucks to be them.

I had started writing a few things…but they remain unfinished in my documents. And most of the ideas I come up with I usually think are stupid the next day, so I just drop the whole project. I've been itching to write something, but I'm normally too lazy to do anything…plus I can't think of a joke.

"Aw, screw it!" I groaned, shoving all the papers off of my desk. Private school has sucked all the creativity right out of me! That's the only excuse I can come up with, since I must blame my lack of production on something so the fans won't tear me apart. Like all great authors do. Wait…I don't have fans.

I lied on my bed, staring at my ceiling, listening to Owl City with ridiculously large headphones. A few thinks crossed my mind: Will I ever come up with a good joke ever again? Will I ever accomplish my dream of someday creating Sparrow's Mind? I wonder if I'll ever get a girlfriend…I wonder if she'll have long black hair. Yeah…What was I saying again? O-Oh yeah, writing and stuff.

I threw off my headphones with a sudden look of determination on my face. "That's it! If I'm going to ever get rid of my joke block I have to do the one thing I never thought I'd have to do…" I took a deep breath. "I'll have to go into the recesses of my imagination." Dramatic music played in the background, which was eerie, but I ignored.

I began to concentrate…Concentrate like I've never concentrated before…Yup, I'm defiantly concentrating…Never before has anybody concentrated this much…Seriously, I can't even describe how much concentration I am gathering right now…

Next thing I knew, I was standing in the middle of a large field. I had no idea how I got there, but I deduced that I was in my imagination…At least, that's what I thought when Spongebob Squarepants started walking in my direction.

"Hi Chris!" he said in an upbeat voice. "What are you doing here on this fine day-" Suddenly, Spongebob exploded. I stumbled backwards a few inches, and once the smoke cleared a hobo stood where Spongebob was once standing. "Can I have some money?" he asked.

"Um…no?" I responded.

"Fine, I see how it is." The hobo grumpily marched off, but not before turning around and shouting "MUFF CABBAGE!"

Yup, this was my imagination alright…I can tell by the unoriginality.

I wandered through the field, passing strange buildings and animals that looked like they were created by some sort of crystal meth addict. On the way I came across a small rodent-like bright orange creature with a bushy tail. I smiled and bent down to pet it. "Hey there little guy." I cooed.

Suddenly the rat creature grew fifty feet taller, getting furrier and his teeth much larger. I was frozen in fear for a moment or two before I ran away, just avoiding being stomped on.

Finally, I reached my destination: the gateway to my subconscious.  I strolled over to it, until to be stopped by an unknown force. Why couldn't I move…? I noticed my shadow growing larger, and soon it dethatched itself from my body.  It levitated to its feet. It looks exactly like me, only darker and with red eyes. "W…Who are you?" I asked.

"I am your dark side. Shadow Chris," he explained. "I come before you to beg you not to enter your subconscious. Such a journey could eradicate life as you know it. If you chose to not heed my words, I will not hesitate to use force."

I really wasn't listening to him. It was my imagination; I could make whatever I want happen! I'm in control! There is no way my subconscious is going to change my life. I held out my head in front of Shadow Chris and shouted, "BEGONE!"

Shadow Chris suddenly disintegrated right in front of me. I smiled. "Cooool…" I said to myself, before entering my subconscious.

My subconscious was nothing more than a large white void. There was nothing in sight for miles. Nothing in front of me, nothing behind me…just a white void. However, after walking a great distance, I came across a girl about my age with long blond hair.

"Um, hi, I'm Chris." I introduced myself to the girl. "Um, would you be willing to be my girlfriend?"

The girl wasn't amused. "No. I am not a normal girl. I am your feminine side. I am Christina."

I blinked. "So…you won't be my girlfriend?" Cristina sighed.

I heard someone walking behind me. I turned around and saw a dog walking toward me. He sat in front of me, staring at me intensely. It was pretty creepy. "Um…hello." I said.

"Hello," the dog responded, which didn't surprise me at all. This was my subconscious after all. "My name is Chatwin. I am your secret desire to be a furry."

I glared at Chatwin. "What're you talking about? I have no secret desire to be a furry!" I decided I didn't want to get in argument with a dog and got back to the task at hand. "Look, can any of you tell me how to get rid of this joke block I've been having?"

"You will not get be rid of your writer's block until you unlock your full potential." And with that, Christina and Chatwin turned to ash. I blinked. Unlock my full potential? What does that mean? Maybe Shadow Chris was wise not to let me in here…I think it's weirder than my actual imagination.

I continued to advance through the endless white void. The minutes became hours, and I slowly began to lose hope of curing my joke block, or even getting out of my subconscious for that matter. And then…the floor began to crack beneath me. The floor shattered, and I began to fall. I fell into white nothingness…until I blacked out. Black and white, get it?...I'll shut up now…

I awoke in a daze who knows how much later. I looked around me and saw I was in one of those dream sequences from Kingdom Hearts…I was in a black void, and I was standing atop an endless tower. Beneath my feet was a windowpane. It was a picture of me, and around me in little circles were my friends: Saarah, Kylie, Cori, Kyuubi, Kim, Luna, Cody, Rachel…Everyone was there. Only something was wrong…I looked incomplete. Parts of me were missing.

You seek answers…You are…Incomplete…

I looked for the source of the voice that suddenly called out to me. "Hello? Who are you?"

I am you…Or should I say, the missing you…

I was completely lost, but played along. "OK…Well, why am I incomplete."

You…are missing something…

"Missing what? My humor? A girlfriend? A keys? A girlfriend?....A girlfriend?"

No…neither of those thing…

"I know I'm missing a girlfriend-"

Pay attention!

"Yeesh, bossy…" Suddenly a large white door synthesized in front of me.

Beyond this door…Is your full potential…

I remembered my feminine side and Chatwin telling me about my full potential before…So, my full potential, huh? Alright, let's do this! I ran up to the door and grab its hinges.

Stop…You are not ready to open that door…Beyond that door lies secrets you are not ready to learn…

Ignoring the voice, I swung open the door. Beyond that door were horrors I had never seen before. It was…darkness. A tentacle shot out from the darkness and it grabbed my leg. I began to drag me into the darkness…

And then…

Cold water was splashed in my face, bringing me back into reality. I was back in my bed, safe and sound. I looked up and saw my friends Saarah and Kylie, with Kylie holding an empty bucket with a devious smile on her face. "I told you that would wake him up," she said.

"Kylieeeee!" I shouted, getting to my feet. "Why the hell did you splash water on me? You've ruined my bedsheets!"

Kylie rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Saarah and I were about to go get pizza. You wanna come with us?"

I was still pretty confused as to what just happened. Was my entire journey just a messed up dream? That would make sense…I do have a lot of messed up dreams. And I mean a lot-

"Hey!" Saarah shouted, breaking into my thoughts. "Are you coming or what?"

"Um, sure!" I stuttered., following my friends. I could worry about my joke block later…And that weird dream. For now, I'm going to hang out with my friends.

Don't worry Chris…Someday you will be ready to open the door…
And that was my first acid trip...

Yup, I finally got off my ass and decided to write something. Anything! This was the first to come to mind, as I do kind of have a joke block. This was made on a whim and took about 1-2 hours to make.

I hope to get back to writing. It's been so long...

Oh, and don't take this too seriously. It's supposed to be weird, not symbolic. P:

I don't own anything that isn't mine, let's just leave it an that.
